| |  | 2/2/2012 - Vacancies for Directors of the Board of horsescotland |  | | | horsescotland is the national organisation for all equestrian sports and activity in Scotland. Its mission is to provide vision for, and give leadership and guidance to, all equestrian interests.
horsescotland seeks to enable equestrian sport and the equestrian sector in Scotland to develop and excel through the highest levels of participation in the sport and the highest levels of growth for the country’s equestrian industry. A partner of the national sports agency, sportscotland, horsescotland is the governing organisation for all equestrain sporting activity and the equestrain industry in Scotland
horsescotland represents Scotland’s 22 member organisations and a growing number of individual and club members, providing high quality support, funding, training and coaching for all those with an interest in the horse.
These activities are overseen by a Board of Directors with responsibility for the development of horsescotland’s Strategic Plan and implementation of its Operational Plan. Directors are nominated for election at the AGM on 26 April 2012 and serve a term of three years, with the opportunity for re-election at that point.
Nominations are hereby sought for vacancies that fall in April 2012. Candidates should be passionate about equestrian sport and industry, and will have expertise in business development and management, including marketing and public relations, or be experienced in the public and voluntary sectors.

Effective from 1st April 2012, all NEWLY registered horses and ponies competing in National competitions must be micro-chipped. Horses that are currently registered with British Showjumping will not be required to be micro-chipped at this stage.
Flu Vaccinations
Effective from 1st April 2012, flu vaccinations will be mandatory for all competing horses and ponies and they must be in possession of a valid flu vaccination certificate. It is the owners responsibility to ensure that the horse’s vaccinations are up to date and correctly recorded on the diagrammatic vaccination record. Spot checks will be regularly carried out at shows throughout the year. The horse must have received 2 injections for primary vaccination against equine influenza given no less than 21 days and no more than 92 days apart. Only these 2 injections need to have been given before a horse can compete in British Showjumping competitions. In addition, a first booster injection must be given no less than 150 days and no more than 215 days after the second injection of the primary vaccination. Subsequently, booster injections must be given at intervals of not more than 1 year apart.
Please note that for horses competing under FEI Regulations the 6 monthly vaccination requirement will still apply.
